The rain held off until the last presentation was given out last Friday at our Athletics Carnival.  Rudd were the overall house winners with 525 points after a well fought day of sprints, relays and 800m races.  The field events were held on Thursday comprising of discus, shot put, long jump and high jump – with Oliver Sowerby, Charlotte Langford and Jemaye Draper breaking records in discus.  The ballgames were also played out on the Thursday with speedy, safe ball handling due to the hours of effort and training that the staff put in with the students practising – Rudd also won the ballgames.  The Friday morning March Past was won by Steele and was judged by Deputy Mayor, Councillor Carol Taylor.  Carol said that she was impressed with both teams, but that Steele kept in time the best.  The Age Champions were:  Tyrese Sands (Intermediate Boys 2007/2008), Charlotte Langford (Intermediate Girls 2007/2008), Xavier Sowerby (Senior Boys 2006), Kobe Hold (Senior Boys 2005) and Stevie Mould (Senior Girls 2005/2006).  Stevie Mould was also the winner of the prestigious Luke Buckles trophy which was awarded for encouragement in sports, sportsmanship and team spirit.
