Student participating in NAIDOC Day art activities
Peter Fowler, a contemporary aboriginal artist from Boonah, spent two days at our school with the students to assist with NAIDOC activities.  Peter and his partner, Fleur, shared their knowledge of  indigenous art as well as literacy and music activities.  Some older students were able to create their own, meaningful indigenous artwork using symbols and dots and also learnt about some dreamtime stories and the didgeridoo.
Younger students learnt about different ways of thinking using native animal brains – such as the koala brain and dingo brain, as well creating their own painted ‘”gratitude” rock, hearing about the       aboriginal way of life and having a go at the      didgeridoo.
