Year 3 and 4 Cobb and Co Excursion
On Tuesday the 1st of August, students in Year 3 and 4 were lucky enough to attend the Cobb & Co museum for their annual 'Have another look Captain Cook' day. Students celebrated the history and culture of the First Australians with storytelling, hands on activities and demonstrations - all the things Cook did not see when he came here in 1770.
During rotations students participated in:
· Welcome smoking ceremony
· Murri connection to country – tucker, medicines, tools & weapons
· Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artefacts & gallery tour
· Boomerang & spear throwing with Clontarf Harristown State High
· Walking through a song line exhibition - The story of the seven sisters
· Deadly science – First Nations connection to animals & dreaming
