Year 1 Science and Technology
We have been busy in Year One exploring, creating, learning and growing. In our Science and Technology unit, we explored how toys moved through push, pull and spin. Each student designed, created and tested a toy that either pushed, pulled or spun using a range of recycled materials.
In English, students have enjoyed exploring poems, identifying the features that make up a poem and stating why they like or dislike a poem.
In Mathematics, students have explored fractions and Australian coins. Students have enjoyed exploring coins, identifying the features of coins and grouping coins differently. One learning activity students engaged in and enjoyed was on the laptops. Students sorted coins into different groups based on a feature by dragging and sorting coins into groups in PowerPoint.
