This term so far, Year 2 have been exercising their creative writing skills by recounting familiar texts and changing a section of each text. We have loved learning new vocabulary in these texts. For example, did you know that a Magpie can warble or that raggedy can describe old clothes/ropes that are weathered?
In Maths, we have been up and moving around to learn directional and positional language.
Using this knowledge, we described objects on a map in relation to others, such as whether they were beside/behind/in front of. Over the next few weeks, we will be moving onto using column and picture graphs to sort survey information.
For Science, we have become investigators and made observations of the sky during the day and night and the changes to the sky and landscape during weather events.
HASS is a semester long subject where we are comparing technological advances from the past and the present. Wow, haven't mobile phones developed over the years!
We are also very excited to welcome Miss Michelle as a practising teacher, to our Year 2 classroom for the remainder of the term.
